Muhammed Fahl

Splash

Mr. Fahl joined Splash as a Junior Developer in 2017. Before moving to NY, he held a postdoctoral researcher position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. From 2012 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Muhammed received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Prior to his graduate studies, he received his B.S. degree in Software Development from the University of Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Sara Irina Fabrikant

Professor of Geography, University of Zürich

Dr. Sara Irina Fabrikant is a Professor of Geography, leading the Geographic Information Visualization and Analysis (GIVA) group at the GIScience Center of the Geography Department at the University of Zurich (UZH), Switzerland. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder (USA). Her research and teaching interests lie in geographic information visualization and geovisual analytics, GIScience and cognition, graphical user interface design and evaluation, including dynamic cartography. She is a Co-Director of the UZH Digital Society Initiative and a member of the Swiss Science Council. She served the International Cartographic Association as a vice president.

Dr. Clio Andris

Assistant Professor, Georgia Tech

Clio Andris is an assistant professor in the School of City and Regional Planning and the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech. Her background is GIS and her research is on mathematical models of social networks, social flows, and interpersonal relationships in geographic space, applied to issues of urban planning, visualization, and geography. She directs the Friendly Cities Lab: Data driven love for community. She is a member of the Center for Spatial Planning Analytics and Visualization (CSPAV) and an affiliate of the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development (CQGRD). She is also a member of the School of Interactive Computing's Information Visualization research group.

Dr. Sarah Battersby

Lead Research Staff, Tableau

Sarah Battersby is Lead Research Staff at Tableau Software. Sarah’s primary area of focus is cartography, with an emphasis on cognition. Her work emphasizes how to help everyone visualize and use spatial information more effectively – no advanced degree in geospatial required. Sarah holds a PhD in GIScience from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is a member of the International Cartographic Association Commission on Map Projections, and is a Past President of the Cartography and Geographic Information Society (CaGIS).

Arnold Palmer

 

- 1 part lemonade
- 2 parts iced tea
- Garnish: lemon slice

 

Pour the lemonade and iced tea into a tall glass filled with ice.

Stir Well and garnish with a slice of lemon.

Shirley Temple

 

 - 3 ounces lemon-lime soda
- 3 ounces ginger ale
- 1/4 ounce grenadine
- Garnish: ​maraschino cherry

 

Pour grenadine into a long glass with ice cubes. Top it with equal amounts of lemon-lime soda and ginger ale.

Stir well and garnish with a Cherry

 

Mojito Mocktail


- 1 tbsp sugar

- small bunch mint

- 3 limes juiced
- soda water

 

Muddle the sugar with leaves from the mint using a pestle and mortar (or use a small bowl and the end of a rolling pin).
Put a handful of crushed ice into 2 tall glasses. Divide the lime juice between the glasses with the mint mix. Add a straw and top up with soda water.
