Labels can make a Tableau visualization easier to understand, or quickly make it feel crowded and difficult to read. In this practical, demo-focused session, Iris will share a collection of techniques for working more intentionally with text, labels, and fonts in Tableau. The session will explore how to control when labels appear using Tableau’s built-in labeling options; make long labels more readable through techniques such as word wrapping; incorporate Unicode characters and simple visual elements directly into labels; and design charts with intentional space for text. Participants will leave with practical techniques and ideas they can immediately experiment with in their own Tableau visualizations.
