Session 1: Autom8 - Turning existing dashboards into actions (15 mins)
This presentation introduces Autom8, an n8n-powered extension designed to connect actionable workflows directly within Tableau dashboards. It demonstrates how to eliminate manual, repetitive tasks - such as updating CRM records, triggering smart alerts, or distributing reports - by bridging the gap between data insight and action. The session tells how Autom8 started as a TC26 Hackathon entry, and grew into a fully-fledged product automating enterprise workflows. For more information, visit the Tableau Exchange to explore the tool, or read about it on https://autom8.biztory.com.
About Timothy Vermeiren: Timothy is an Analytics Domain Lead at Biztory, a Tableau Certified Consultant & Architect, and one of the rare few to hold both Tableau Ambassador and n8n Ambassador status - making him uniquely placed to talk about where these two worlds meet. He's been working with Tableau for well over a decade across a wide range of clients and use cases, and is perhaps best known for winning the 2018 Iron Viz Global Championship. Based in Belgium, Timothy brings a deep technical background in Tableau automation, embedding, REST APIs, and Centre of Excellence enablement to everything he builds.
Session 2: n8n for Consultants - Productivity Tricks That Actually Work (10 mins)
Running your own consultancy means wearing a lot of hats - and a lot of your time disappears to tasks that aren't billable. Chris shares the n8n automations he's built into his own workflow to reclaim that time: from client communication and reporting pipelines to the small quality-of-life wins that stack up fast. Whether you're new to n8n or already tinkering, expect practical ideas you can take away and implement straight away.
About Chris McClellan: Chris is a freelance Tableau consultant based in Sydney, Australia, operating through his practice Visualisedata. Chris works across Tableau, Snowflake, Alteryx, and dbt - and has spent years helping clients and non-profits get more out of their data. Beyond client work, he co-leads both the Consultants & Freelancers TUG and the Team Datafam TUG, championing the independent practitioner community within the Tableau ecosystem.
Session 3: Networking - Consultants, Freelancers & Independents (30 mins)
Open Networking (live conversation only, not available in the recording)
Running your own business in the data space can be rewarding - and isolating. This session is a dedicated space for consultants, freelancers, and anyone operating independently to connect, swap war stories, share what's working, and ask the questions you can't easily ask inside a client engagement. Whether you're just starting out on your own or have been at it for years, come ready to both give and get advice from people who get it.
