About this event

TUG meetings are inclusive meetup events for Tableau enthusiasts to connect, learn, and discuss all things data. Data analysts and data enthusiasts from regional businesses, local governments, nonprofits, and students interested in data analytics are invited to build this coastal analytics community. Find inspiration from peers across industries, roles, affiliations, and other areas of interest while advancing your analytics skills.

Admission to the Gulf Coast TUG meeting is free, and these meetings will be held quarterly. The local TUG Leaders are always looking for speakers from different industries to share their data stories and challenges with the community. If you would like to speak or recommend a speaker for one of the future TUG meetings, please contact the Gulf Coast TUG Leaders, Jana or Russ.

Students interested in the field of analytics are particularly welcome to attend. These meetings will serve as opportunities for industry professionals to connect, unofficial Data Analytics Club meetings for students, and an introduction for newcomers who wish to learn more. Meetings will include topics about data literacy and fundamentals and a broad range of how to improve your data visualization skills using Tableau. Regardless of your skill level, all are welcome to join us.

Agenda

10:00 PM
Welcome from the Group Leaders
Russ Cantrell and Jana Stupavsky cordially welcome everyone to the Gulf Coast Tableau Users Group.
10:15 PM
Have a Job? Need a Job?
Our 'Have a Job? Need a Job?' segment is a unique opportunity to connect employers with open positions in analytics and aspiring students seeking careers in data analytics. If you are an employer with an open position in analytics, we would like to invite you to share it with the group. You'll be asked to stand up and tell the audience what your company does and what the position is about. Bringing printed copies of the QR code or link to the actual job description would be helpful. If you are a student looking for a career in data analytics, this is an opportunity to put yourself out there. Stand up in front of the group and give them a 30-second elevator speech about you - what you study, what tools you use, what skills you have, and why you are interested in data analytics.
10:30 PM
Community Spotlight
Welcome to our 'Community Spotlight' segment, a dedicated space in our Tableau User Group meetings where we shine a light on the diverse and talented individuals within our coastal analytics community. In this segment, we'll hear directly from our members, both seasoned professionals and aspiring students, as they share their unique data stories, insights, and challenges. Whether you're a data analyst, a student passionate about analytics, or someone just starting their journey in the world of data, 'Community Spotlight' is your opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by the incredible individuals and organizations that make our Gulf Coast TUG such a vibrant and collaborative space. At this TUG meeting, we will put Cory Myers, Senior Analyst of Strategy and Transformation with USA Health in the spotlight.
