Log in, grab a treat, take a comfortable seat, and chair-dance to the fun tunes.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? HETUG co-leads Ginny and Sam will share some chicken vizzes and egg data, along with some egg-ceptional ways to eggs-ercise your data and Tableau skills outside of work. Get ready for some im-peck-able puns!
Map layers on maps? Well, yeah, that makes sense. ๐บ๏ธ
Map layers for non-mappy charts?! Mind. Blown. ๐คฏ
Seriously, this is no April Fool's trick! Michael McCusker is here to share how you can extend Tableau's map layers functionality to build complex non-map visualizations.
๐ฎ Bonus: While he's here, Michael's going to share a hint or two about what the San Diego TUG has planned to welcome the Tableau Community back to town for TC26 in May.
You've got your shiny new dashboard all set up with an amazing data source, but where did the data actually come from? And what does it mean? The Tableau Catalog, part of Tableau's Data Management offerings, can help answer some of those questions, but if you need to track the lineage further upstream to, say, your Student Information System, you might be left with some holes in the metadata flow that you need to plug. Andrew will share some learnings around open source tools that may help harden the metadata pipes for your data flows.
We'll close out the meeting with info about our next HETUG meeting, and then open up breakout rooms to chat! (Chat may extend past 4:30pm Eastern.)
Have a quick tip to share? A longer presentation? Want us to interview you in our Meet a Community Member segment? We want to hear from you!
Want to chat with other HETUG members? Have a Tableau question? Want a sounding board? We've got a Slack space for that.
