Join the Portland Tableau User Group for a practical session with Sekou Tyler on building with AI in Tableau without shipping work that looks like AI built it.
ChatGPT, Claude, and Tableau Agent will spin up a workbook faster than ever, and it shows. Sekou uses AI almost every day when he builds in Tableau, and he is not here to tell you to stop. What he has noticed is that when we ship whatever AI hands us without a closer look, the same patterns keep showing up in our workbooks. Stakeholders pick up on them even when they can't say exactly what feels off.
The most common ways people use AI in Tableau today: planning an entire dashboard, pasting in AI written calculated fields, and copying the look of a viz found on Tableau Public
Where each approach tends to go sideways
How Sekou cleans up an AI draft before anyone else sees it
The checklist he runs on every workbook before it goes out the door, ready for you to use on your own work the next day
Bring your questions and your own AI experiments. All experience levels are welcome.
