🌊 Data+Community: Beach Cleanup at Moonlight Beach

Give back to our coast with the San Diego Tableau community, then refuel with coffee and conversation.

We’ll be joining a beach cleanup hosted by the Surfrider Foundation at Moonlight State Beach. This is a casual community event focused on connection, impact, and spending time together outside the dashboard.

No presentations. No slides. Just community, fresh air, and purpose.

📅 Date & Time

Saturday, March 21

• 9:00 AM – Meet near the Surfrider tent at Moonlight Beach for cleanup
• 9:00 AM –11:00 AM – Surfrider Beach Cleanup (join for any portion)
• ~10:30 AM / 11:00 AM – Optional coffee hang nearby

Surfrider’s official cleanup runs from 9–11 AM. Feel free to participate for as long as you’re able before heading to coffee.

To join:

1. RSVP here on Bevy (so we can coordinate as a group)
2. Complete Surfrider’s volunteer signup (required for waiver + supplies)

Both registrations are required to participate in the cleanup.

🌧️ Weather Note

If rain is in the forecast, the Surfrider cleanup may be canceled for safety. If that happens, we’ll still meet up for coffee and community connection nearby. We’ll share updates if anything changes the morning of.

🧤 What to Bring (Optional)

Surfrider provides cleanup supplies, but feel free to bring:

• Reusable gloves
• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
• Closed-toe shoes (recommended)
• Refillable water bottle

Most importantly: your love for data and community.

Afterward, we’ll head to a nearby coffee shop for relaxed networking and conversation with fellow members of the San Diego Tableau community. Coffee location will be shared closer to the event.
