Mr. Fahl joined Splash as a Junior Developer in 2017. Before moving to NY, he held a postdoctoral researcher position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. From 2012 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Muhammed received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Prior to his graduate studies, he received his B.S. degree in Software Development from the University of Tokyo, Japan.

Phil is a data scientist and member of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team at AE Business Solutions, a technology and consulting firm based in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to working as a consultant at AE, he finished his dissertation in political science at Florida State University, where he researched and taught classes in international conflict and political
violence. As an academic researcher, his methodological interests focused on predictive modeling, machine learning, and causal inference, and he makes use of these skills everyday now in helping organizations with their data.
