AI Governance Exploration at PDX TUG - August Session

August 11 meetup: From Prompt to Platform, plus a Tableau Conference recap. What do you want covered?

Our next Portland Tableau User Group meetup is Tuesday, August 11, 1:00 to 2:00 PM Pacific, virtual. Here is the plan for the hour:

A recap of the highlights from Tableau Conference 2026, a walkthrough of what is new in the latest release of Tableau Desktop, and our featured talk, From Prompt to Platform, with Kanwal Kour, Solutions Architect at Concentrix and Tableau Ambassador.

In the featured session Kanwal shows a governed AI agent answering a board question in about 90 seconds. Connected through the Model Context Protocol to Salesforce Data Cloud, Tableau Next, and certified Tableau data sources, the agent surfaces the root causes, names the accounts at risk, and drafts the board narrative live. Then it is asked for direct SQL access and declines every time, proving the governance model in public. This is the talk that drew a standing room audience at Tableau Conference 2026, Session 1521.

To make the hour useful, tell us in the replies:

What is your biggest question about connecting AI agents to governed Tableau and Salesforce data? Are you on Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud, or moving to Tableau Next, and what would you want a demo to prove? And which Tableau Desktop features from the latest release do you want us to spend time on?

Drop your thoughts below and RSVP so we can send you the join link.
