πŸ“š Meet a Community Member πŸ“š

Jessica Edwards (Columbia University)

We'll have stacks of questions ready as we meet Jessica Edwards, Collections Analysis Librarian at Columbia University.

πŸ’‘ (Tips for) Tricky Transfer Calculations πŸ’‘

Ginny Moench (Appalachian State University)

What's more tricky than regular ol' student data? Transfer student data.

What's more tricky than an LOD? A nested LOD.

Combining transfer students and nested LODs? We wanna say "nope," but Ginny's got some tips to make this tricky situation more manageable!

πŸ§™ Tableau Sorting Hat 🎨

Your HE+CCC TUG Leads: Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Helga Hufflepuff

Four houses, four variations of sorts. Where will the sorting hat place your data?

Note: This segment is a holdover from the June HE+CCC TUG meeting. We ran out of time because there was so much transfer goodness, so we're thrilled to have the California Community Colleges TUG Leads, Lisa Trescott, Sam Homier, and Kim Coutts, crash July's HETUG to sort through Tableau sorting hats.

An if you want to build your own Harry Potter movie viz, or any other viz that would be earlier with custom color palettes, we'll also demo a new Tableau color palette generator tool, Colour Manager for Tableau, created by Auckland, New Zealand, TUG Leader and TUG Ambassador, Alex Waleczek.

🎁 Giveaways! πŸŽ

We've got a few exciting giveaways planned, including:

  • multiple chances to win a year's worth of Tableau e-learning--the more folks show up to the TUG, the more licenses we can give away, so tell your friends!
  • stickers (stickers!) and a sticker contest
You'll have to join the meeting to be eligible to win the e-learning codes.

πŸ’¬ Wrap-up and Chat πŸ’¬

We'll close out the meeting with info about our next HETUG meeting, and then open up breakout rooms to chat! (Chat may extend past 4:30pm Eastern.)
