Join us to hear from Li Zhang. Li is a CPA who transitioned to the dynamic field of data analytics using tools including Tableau and Python. Combining her background in finance, she is dedicated to delivering value-driven solutions and providing strategic guidance and support to businesses.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she is a voracious reader with a passion for knowledge spanning diverse areas such as civil engineering, history, art, and investment. This curiosity fuels her continuous learning journey and enriches her analytical approach, allowing her to bring fresh perspectives to every project she undertakes.
In Li's presentation, we'll hear about the Tableau Journey at the Nut Producers Australia:
Frank Scott, the talented screenwriter of many Hollywood classics and the director of “Queens Gambit”, faced some heat on social media for his long speech at the 2021 Emmys. While I'm not sure about the accepted length of speeches at the User Group, I believe it's best to keep things concise, following the golden rule of 3. Here are the three pieces of information I'd love to share with like-minded individuals, each expanding into a couple of subtopics, mirroring the structure of Tableau Hierarchy:
Achievements so far using Tableau to support our business decision-making:
- Conduct business analysis with Tableau Desktop – yield cool results with minimal maintenance.
- Utilizing Tableau Prep for Data Modelling, enabling us to consolidate sales reports, stock reports etc.
Ongoing efforts to Foster a Data Culture
- Establishing data catalogue to provide business units with clean data.- Transitioning Excel modelling tasks in Finance team to Tableau
Effective practices I followed that seem to work great for me:
- Leveraging Tableau Prep extensively to lay a solid foundation and ensure scalability of work, while also facilitating the setup of user-friendly hierarchies.
- Examining issues form multiple perspectives, resulting in the creation of at least two models to maintain accuracy.
We'll also hear from Grant Quick. Grant is a Lead Solution Engineer based out of Sydney who has helped customers all around the world tell stories with their data. He is passionate about exploring new data visualisation techniques and finding more effective ways to communicate insights with different audiences. When Grant isn't analysing data, he can usually be found training for his next triathlon or kayaking.
Grant's presentation will be focussed on how Tableau Pulse signifies a revolution in data analytics. It provides reimagined, AI-powered Tableau user experience, allowing users to unlock the full potential of their data, facilitating smarter decisions at an unprecedented pace. In this session, Grant will walk through what Pulse is, how it can be enabled in your site and leveraged to best effect. We will also touch on some of the upcoming developments for Pulse in the year ahead.
