Data+Women NYC has invited Sarah Nell-Rodriguez, founder of Be Data Lit, to speak with our community about women in data and leadership. What does it mean to fully be ourselves in a field that values efficiency over connection? How can we support women in data and encourage them to become leaders?
Note: This is a virtual event and Sarah will be presenting virtually
Agenda:
6:00 - 6:15: Introduction
6:15 - 6:45: The Fabric of Women in Data
6:45 - 7:00: Q&A with Sarah
Session Description:
Nobody says “I want to grow up to work in data,” yet here we are — a community of women whose journeys into this field are as unique as our voices. Some of us came through education, some through tech, some by way of entirely different industries. No two stories look the same, and that’s our greatest strength.
In this session, Sarah Nell-Rodriquez explores how honoring our own paths — whether we’re just starting out, changing directions, or decades into our careers — helps us see the power in our differences. Together, those differences form the fabric of women in data: a community defined not by uniformity, but by the richness of varied experiences. Attendees will walk away with a renewed sense of belonging and recognition that every journey, at every level, matters.
