It's time for the Spring Gulf Coast TUG meeting! This time, we are launching an interactive dashboard workshop, and we hope to have multiple participants join it. Think of it as a replica of the #MakeoverMonday project. Check out the agenda, download the dataset, and build a dashboard ahead of the meeting to receive feedback.

About this event

TUG meetings are inclusive meetup events for Tableau enthusiasts to connect, learn, and discuss all things data. Data analysts and data enthusiasts from regional businesses, local governments, nonprofits, and students interested in data analytics are invited to build this coastal analytics community. Find inspiration from peers across industries, roles, affiliations, and other areas of interest while advancing your analytics skills.

Admission to the Gulf Coast TUG meeting is free, and these meetings will be held quarterly. The local TUG Leaders are always looking for speakers from different industries to share their data stories and challenges with the community. If you would like to speak or recommend a speaker for one of the future TUG meetings, please contact the Gulf Coast TUG Leaders, Jana or Russ.

Students interested in the field of analytics are particularly welcome to attend. These meetings will serve as opportunities for industry professionals to connect, unofficial Data Analytics Club meetings for students, and an introduction for newcomers who wish to learn more. Meetings will include topics about data literacy and fundamentals and a broad range of how to improve your data visualization skills using Tableau. Regardless of your skill level, all are welcome to join us.

We would love someone to take a few minutes to present how they use Tableau at their respective company. Think of it as a brief case study. We've been struggling to fill this slot, so please reach out to the organizers if you would like to participate or have a potential speaker in mind.

Dashboard Doctor
Join us for a hands-on dashboard showcase! Work with our sample business dataset to create your own Tableau visualization ahead of the TUG meeting, then bring your laptop to share your approach. Get friendly feedback from fellow TUG members and see how others tackle the same data. Born from an idea at our Winter Gulf Coast TUG meeting, we're hoping to make this a regular way for everyone to learn cool new Tableau tricks from each other. For this session, visit https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/mesumraza/real-world-fake-dataset-for-practice/data and download the Supply Chain.xlsx dataset and analyze the Freight Rates data. If you'd rather just upload your dashboard to Tableau Public and share the link with the organizers, that's fine, too. In the future, we will welcome input on preferred datasets.
