About this event

Coastal Alabama's diverse and growing industry base offers plenty of opportunities for data to be generated and analyzed. Therefore, we have launched a local Tableau User Group (TUG) to form and grow a data analytics community in this geographic area. Data analysts and data enthusiasts from regional businesses, local governments, nonprofits, and colleges are invited to take part in building a coastal analytics community.

TUG meetings are inclusive meetup events for Tableau enthusiasts to connect, learn, and discuss all things data. Find inspiration from peers across industries, roles, affiliations, and other areas of interest while advancing your analytics skills. Admission to the TUG meeting is free and these meetings will be held multiple times a year in our area. The local TUG Leaders are always looking for speakers from different industries to share their data stories and challenges with the community. If you would like to speak or recommend a speaker for one of the future TUG meetings, please reach out to the Gulf Coast TUG Leaders, Jana or Russ.

The inaugural Gulf Coast Tableau Users Group (TUG) meeting will be held in conjunction with the 2023 SABRE Analytics Summit at the University of South Alabama McQueen Alumni Center on Nov 16, 2023. We have several speakers scheduled for the event. This meeting is supported by USA Health, USA's School of Computing, Whiddon College of Medicine, Mitchell College of Business, and Tableau.

Students interested in the field of analytics are particularly welcome to attend. These meetings will serve as opportunities for industry professionals to connect, unofficial Data Analytics Club meetings for students, and an introduction for any newcomers who wish to learn more about data literacy and data fundamentals in general and data visualizations using Tableau in particular. Regardless of your skill level, all are welcome to join us.
