Log in, grab a treat, take a comfortable seat, and chair-dance to the fun tunes.
Meet HETUG co-lead and Tableau Ambassador, James Emery. James will share a little of what it's like to help out the masses on Tableau Forums while still supporting a local Tableau user base within the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech.
When a student leaves your school, you're going to ask questions. When students stop-out, are they enrolling elsewhere, and if so, at what kinds of institutions? After undergraduates graduate, are they going on to grad school? The Catalytics Team at Western Carolina University will share, from data prep to dashboard, how they're helping campus leaders understand subsequent enrollment patterns using National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) data.
We hit up the clearance rack for discount Halloween masks, and are ready to learn about data masking! Oh, wait, we're not talking about those types of masks?
Stephanie will demonstrate a technique that dynamically removes data from views that would expose small numbers. She'll use a fake university student survey dataset with pre-calculated variables to automatically filter data from small academic programs in and out of a Tableau dashboard as we change the view to compare demographic groups, break responses out over time, and limit the number of years displayed.
We'll close out the meeting with info about our next HETUG meeting, and then open up breakout rooms to chat! (Chat may extend past 4:30pm Eastern.)
Have a quick tip to share? A longer presentation? Want us to interview you in our Meet a Community Member segment? We want to hear from you!
Want to chat with other HETUG members? Have a Tableau question? Want a sounding board? We've got a Slack space for that.
