Introducing PDX TUG's first attempt at a Hack-a-thon! Here's what you need to know...

Where should I go in Kiln: Kiln has a room called the Pink Room, where we'll be meeting. When you first walk in the doors, the pink room is the second room on your right.

What is this: A chance to practice formatting in Tableau with some Tableau experts around to help you out. We will be giving everyone a single dashboard to work on to clean up, organize, and format.

How to prepare: Don't! Well, at least you don't have to. We won't reveal the dashboard until the day of the event, so no one gets a head start! But you can practice your Tableau formatting and design skills ahead of time!

What should I bring: A positive attitude! And a laptop would probably be helpful, unless you have another way of using Tableau, then bring that!

What if I'm new to Tableau and scared: don't be (unless you're scared of dragons. We can't help there). We'll have have experts (in Tableau, not dragons) here to help as much as you want. This is a beginner-friendly competition, and relies more on creativity than technical prowess. We also plan on having awards besides "Grand Prize" such as: "cleanest dashboard", "most creative" or "person nicest to Danny."

We'll have more rules when you get there, but who wants to read rules? We will have food and beverage, and plenty of time for socialization. So please come even if you don't plan on participating in the hackathon. We look forward to seeing you Thursday, February 1st from 5PM - 6:30PM at Kiln in SE Portland!
