Tableau Enthusiast

You love Tableau and understand the benefits of learning a tool like this can do for you and others. You want to shout about your love of Tableau from the rooftops!

Creator

You understand that putting on inclusive events with engaging topics creates a reason for people to come back event after event and bring others along with them.

Planner

We ask that our leaders run at least 4 events a year, so that requires that you're a good planner and can be organized enough to run an amazing event

Promoter

You've done the work of planning these events now it's time to promote and get people excited to join. Share with your network and local community. Spread the word.

Tableau User Group Leader Eligibility

Before you apply to start a Tableau User Group or join an existing TUG Community Group's leadership team, there are some things you will need to consider:

  • Requirements:
    • Product Knowledge: You must have had at least 6 months experience using any Tableau-related product and can demonstrate that through your LinkedIn or Tableau Public profile.
      • Alternatively, if you are certified, we will require you to provide your Credly profile.
    • You've attended an event: You must have attended at least 1 Tableau User Group event prior to applying.
    • Joined Tableau Community on Slack: All Tableau User Group Leaders will need to be in our Tableau Community Slack workspace to access all user group leader-related resources.
    • You live or work in the location where you want to start the Tableau User Group if it is a regional-focused user group
    • You are able to host least 1 event every 3 months, or 4 events per year that are useful, informative, and engaging
    • Leading Together: You must have 1 Co-leader apply with you to start a new user group.
  • Restrictions apply:
    • Salesforce/Tableau employees cannot apply to lead a Tableau User Group
    • Group leaders cannot all be from the same company
    • At this time, students are not eligible to apply; however, we encourage you to stay involved with the community and explore other opportunities to participate, learn or even share your skills by speaking!
    • You have checked that the group you want to start does not already exist and that there isn’t an active group in the same city.
      • How to check: Look through the search function above by clicking on the 🔍magnifying glass at the top. Search by location and/or topic.
      • Different types of groups may be allowed in the same area under certain conditions
      • The TUG Community Team will review your application to verify that there is not an existing group
