James has spent the last 18 years of his career dedicated to buying and measuring marketing media in various industries including S&P Global, Consumer Products, and Automotive. Starting his career in paid search, measuring marketing performance at granular levels was a necessary skill set to develop to excel in digital marketing. James has spent the last eight years in the automotive space overseeing the full scope of the marketing stack from digital to traditional media. James has always found objective information within marketing performance data to be the true north to set the priorities for the team. Utilizing the power of Tableau - the Schomp Marketing team provides clarity to their stores in the relationship between marketing and sales.
The next iteration for the Schomp Marketing team is to become an independent entity. The HIVE is a performance marketing agency that serves automotive groups and non-automotive clients. Within the agency, we provide a product, powered by Tableau to unify and normalize automotive CRM data. HIVE Analytics is a suite of dashboards that brings multiple rooftops into one data set, normalizes data across dealership rooftops, and provides a measurement methodology for marketers and operators within the Automotive Retail context.
When James is not at work, he enjoys chasing his kids around multiple sports complexes, dance studios, and golf courses.
GEORGE LAWTON, SCHOMP AUTOMOTIVE, MARKETING OPERATIONS MANAGER
George began his career in the Automotive Industry in 2007 and has filled roles in sales, management, operations, and marketing. His well-rounded experience in the field has provided him with unique insights into understanding cause-and-effect trends that directly affect the overall industry. George naturally looks at the word holistically; his passion for data analysis and causality have been catalysts in creating systems and processes that improve KPIs and boost success metrics. George’s introduction to Tableau was an avenue to view more data at once and better predict outcomes, improving strategies and results.
George’s Automotive background has been instrumental in the co-development of HIVE Analytics. The suite of dashboards offers multiple datasets designed for different end users that George has been in previous roles. His present goal is to bring these insights to a wider automotive audience and demonstrate how data analysis and application through Business Intelligence can help your business soar.
Outside of the office, George enjoys studying philosophy and astronomy. You can often find him spending time outdoors with his wife and two doodles, and he’s likely wearing a pair of stylish socks
