About this event

We are back with the Summer edition of the Zurich TUG! 
Join us for another evening filled with data & Tableau talks. 
This time, we are delighted to invite you to the Zurich HQ of Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), an organisation acting on behalf of the Swiss Confederation and the cantons to promote Swiss companies abroad and help foreign innovative businesses establish themselves in Switzerland. 
During the three presentations, we will:
→ get an insight into how S-GE maximise the usage of their data with Tableau & Tableau Pulse, 
→ learn about how Tableau integrates with Exasol and, to finish off on a high note… 
→ we will treat you to a Tableau tips & tricks session.

4:00 PM	Welcome	Introduction - welcome to another Zurich Tableau User Group!
4:15 PM	The S-GE Data Journey – Empowering SMEs with Data-Driven Insights \| Dominic Odermatt, Ivan Anastasi & Christian Hoffmann	Join us as we walk through the data journey of Switzerland Global Enterprise: from our early Tableau adoption in 2013 to building a modern, cloud-based analytics platform today. Learn how we evolved our data strategy to better support Swiss SMEs on their international journey, why we moved from on-premises to the cloud last year, and what lessons shaped our approach to data and analytics. We’ll also share a glimpse into what’s next for our data ecosystem.
4:30 PM	Tableau Server: A Modular, On-Premise Approach \| André Bittencourt	In this session, we’ll explore how to build and operate a modern, high-performance analytics pipeline fully hosted on-premise. The architecture combines Python-based data ingestion running on Kubernetes, Exasol as the analytical database, and Tableau Server for interactive reporting and visualization. The objective of the session is to give a real-world example of how Tableau can be used in on-premise settings not only for the classic insights on financials, but also as a monitoring tool for any modular solution we aim to build. Further, I want to highlight that, for sensitive data and certain industries, on-premise not only provide a compliant, sovereign solution, but also cost transparency for investors. The presentation will end with a demonstration of a BI monitoring dashboard essential during our financial closing process.
5:00 PM	Chart Smarter, Not Harder: Tiny Tips for Sharper Tableau Dashboards \| Monika Piekarska	The ultimate proof of Tableau community creativity, cornerstone of innovative workarounds and that one thing that screams 'Tableau has no secrets for me' like no other: Tableau tips & tricks to improve the clarity, performance and visual impact of your dashboards. Join us for this fun and actionable session in which Monika will reveal her favourite tips & tricks in Tableau. No fluff, only real stuff: this will be a hands-on, example-based presentation which you'll be leaving with plenty of ideas and inspiration, ready to be implemented in your next project.
